According to the FCDO travel advice, driving in Kuwait is hazardous mainly due to the poor standards of local driving. They also note that you may not leave the scene of an accident until the police have seen it and let you go. You will also need a police report of any accident to make use of any collision damage waiver. Most car hire through our site comes with collision damage and theft waivers though you'll have to pay the first £650-800 or so (according to type of car and rental company) of any claim. Tyres, windscreens and underside of the vehicle will also be excluded making a car hire excess insurance very worthwhile.
Third party insurance is mandatory but may not be included in the rates. The good news is that it isn't that expensive.
You can increase the amount of 3rd party cover by purchasing a Supplementary Liability Insurance policy. These top up the amount of cover provided locally to US $1 million. However, do note two points in particular with SLI policies. Firstly, they are designed to enhance not replace any locally provided insurance so you don't buy one of these policies instead of the local cover. Secondly, much of the market for SLI products is the USA and Canada so not all policies offer worldwide coverage.
